A unique bisque fired porcelain pot - the glazed design was inspired by the Mexican festival of Th Day of The Dead. The skulls are representations of the sugar skulls that are decorated and given to children.
It is made in porcelain slip and was fired at 1060 degrees centigrade. It was then decorated with coloured underglazes and fired again. Then more layers of underglazes were applied and it was refired. Then a clear glaze was applied and it was fired for a fourth time.
The eye sockets of the skulls have Swarovski crystal rhinestones applied with strong epoxy resin glue.
It measures approx. four inches tall ( just under 10.5 cms.) The diameter is 4.5 inches ( approx. 11.5 cms.) The walls of this pot are thick and measure approx 5mm thick.
This unique art pot was completely made in my UK studio and will not be repeated again in exactly the same way. I often visit the same theme over and over again - but each piece is different to its predecessor.
It is signed and dated on the base and numbered 1/1 - one of one - whick makes it unique.
THE PRICE INCLUDES WORLDWIDE INSURED POSTAGE AND SECURE PACKAGING.
Washable, in warm soapy water, but NOT dishwasher proof!
Thanks so much for your interest in my work - it is greatly appreciated - peace and love Leandra Holder x
