BAG MEASUREMENTS - 32 X 40 X 10 cm (width / height / depth) 12.60 x 15.75 x 4 inches - the handles are approx. 25 inches long (in a loop) 32 cms. So will easily fit over a shoulder. It fastens with very large metal press-studs.
This is a unique art bag created by Leandra Holder in her UK studio - very pretty and eye-catching!
(UNIQUE means that only one has been made in this design!)
The base bag is a very strong thick washable cotton in bright red. The lining is a gorgeous vintage 1950's red printed cotton fabric (this fabric would probably have been used for curtains in a kitchen) hand stitched by Leandra with blanket stitch.
On the main part of the front of the bag there's a large transfer print of Frida Kahlo - this was printed onto white cotton fabric before being appliqued to the bag. Frida is wearing earrings in the photo and I have added two Preciosa crystals to these earrings. / above Frida is a large piece of vintage embroidery that has been appliqued onto the bag / I have printed two butterflies onto white cotton fabric, hand sewed some wonderful Preciosa crystals onto them, then appliqued these to the bag too / there's also a red sparkly sequin flower / at the bottom of the bag (on the front) are some hand embroidered flowers by myself / on each side of Frida - who is framed with sewn-on spotted red and white ribbons - are a dangling bunch of plastic chilli charms / there are small sparkling Preciosa crystals hand sewn onto the bag too.
The handles have red and white spotty ribbon sewn onto them.
The top edge of the bag has narrow black lace trim and vintage ecru lace.
